Kia ora. Welcome to the web site of Opotiki, in the glorious Eastern Bay of Plenty of New Zealand. While our town is small in size, it is huge in spirit. Many times each year Opotiki buzzes with great events, from the 172 kilometre Bay Trust Motu Challenge Multisport Race to the Delamere Cup Kapa Haka Tournament, the Fibre & Fleece Creative Fashion Show to the Fun Unplugged Giant Mudslide, the Big Three Hunting Tournament to the Opotiki Rodeo.

Fun Unplugged pulls a range of real kiwi activities together so kids of today can experience the simple pleasures kiwis used to enjoy. It’s a chance for grownups to show the young what fun used to be like and for young to experience fun without electronics. More...

Opotiki also sits in a wonderful natural environment, close to the sparkling Pacific Ocean coast and the bush-clad Raukumura mountain range. You can experience world-class fishing, diving, hiking and a wealth of other activities. The pretty Waioeka and Otara rivers pass right through town, and are frequently paddled by kayakers.
