Mini Motu Kid's Duathlon
Calling all children to get off the couch
The Mini Motu Duathlon is back again by popular demand children aged from 2-14 have the chance to show off their skills and burn up some energy on the Mini Motu Course. A short run, bike, and then run to the finish line is set out around the stop banks and roads of Opotiki. Each age group has a different distance to complete ranging from 600metres to 6km .
The Mini Motu is all about getting our children out of the house off sofa and having a go. Each Competitor who finishes the duathlon is awarded with a prestigous Mini Motu medal to take home.
Participation is the name of the duathlon with no placings taken or known by officials, spectators or the children.
SO COME ON GIVE IT A GO.
Following the Mini Motu Children have the opportunity to see and cheer for the competitors of the BayTrust Motu Challenge. Nz's second largest multisport event with elite sports people such as Richard Usher and Gordon Walker.
Helmets and closed in footwear must be worn by participants
